Frank meets Cris Doyle

My good friend Frank sent me an email at about 3 AM this morning about his day at work. Frank loads film cameras on movie sets and this is what he had to say:

I worked with the DP Chris Doyle today. He came on the truck in the morning before we started shooting and opened a beer. While he drank (and before we were introduced) he emptied his bag and handed me the contents to throw in the garbage: three empty beers and an empty bottle of champagne.
I thought he was crazy until we started to shoot.
Holy shit.
I didn't realize who he was.
He is the most talented DP I've ever worked with.
Watch the video and check out his resume on IMDB.

In the video you see his Hand-Held style that he calls "steadi Chang". It's basically a large bean bag thing we call a "Cine-bag" strapped around his waist. I spent a small portion of my day strapping it to him or, "chang-ing" him.

He didn't start making movies until he was 34.

You should read the Quotations on IMDB.

Totally awesome.
